Mary Grayson Nix Caden, Yoga Teacher, Owner and Chief Executive Officer at The Yoga Room, Owner, Operator and Chief Executive Officer at Yogalete, and Founder at The Yoga Room Academy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in the Health and Fitness Industry.
Ms. Caden is lauded for her longstanding commitment to the health and fitness sectors, currently serving as both a yoga teacher and owner of The Yoga Room in Auburn, Alabama. First teaching at the studio in 2020, she took ownership in 2024, where she is responsible for daily operations. Ms. Caden coordinates classes and class schedules for approximately 25 yoga instructors and does all the hiring of employees. She also handles all business finances, oversees marketing and social media efforts, as well as software operations. Furthermore, she serves as one of the instructors. The Yoga Room has been a fixture in the community for over a decade.
In 2021, Ms. Caden founded Yogalete. Also based in Auburn, she serves as the company’s owner, operator and chief executive officer. As the sole instructor of this online yoga studio, she reaches clients worldwide and specializes in teaching yoga to athletes. Yogalete’s name is derived from combining “yoga” and “athlete,” reflecting her commitment to providing tailored instruction for sports professionals. Through Yogalete, Ms. Caden has taught football, soccer and baseball teams and has worked with National Football League players and other professional athletes, as well as former college soccer players. She considers the creation of Yogalete her greatest achievement, as it represents a full-circle moment transitioning from collegiate athlete to helping other athletes enhance their performance through yoga.
More recently, Ms. Caden became the founder of The Yoga Room Academy in 2025, expanding her impact on yoga education and instructor development. Leveraging her former expertise, she served as a health and wellness coordinator for the EAGLES Program at Auburn University from 2021 to 2024. She was also a lead counselor for the EAGLES Program in 2022. Previously, Ms. Caden excelled as both a yoga teacher and personal trainer with Auburn University’s recreation and wellness department between 2020 and 2022.
Ms. Caden’s professional journey began as a soccer player at Eckerd College from 2009 to 2011. After sustaining injuries that ended her athletic career prematurely, she shifted her focus to culinary arts, graduating from culinary school in 2013 before founding Mary Grayson’s Creations, a cake business she operated for several years. Although she enjoyed baking, Ms. Caden realized her passion lay elsewhere and decided to pursue further education in exercise science.
Studying at Auburn University, Ms. Caden achieved a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and exercise science with a minor in therapeutic exercise in 2020 and a Master of Science in physical education in 2022. These academic achievements provided a strong foundation for her work as an instructor and entrepreneur in the health and fitness area.
Ms. Caden subsequently earned numerous certifications that underscore her expertise, including as a certified personal trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine, certification as an inclusive fitness trainer from the American College of Sports Medicine, and certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator from the American Health Care Academy. She also received multiple credentials from YogaFit, including as a registered yoga teacher, in emotional and physical trauma, and YogaFit for athletes.
Throughout her career, Ms. Caden has maintained active membership in several industry organizations, including YogaFit Training Systems Worldwide Inc. and the World Yoga Federation, as well as her local chambers of commerce, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement.
Ms. Caden’s civic involvement includes volunteering to help underserved populations through the Nourish Foundation, acting as a board member for the Alabama Head Injury Foundation Inc., participating in free yoga charity events, and donating Christmas gifts to children in foster care or awaiting adoption in Lee County, Alabama. In addition to her professional and community activities, she contributed to research as the co-author of featured articles on the design and implementation of adapted soccer programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, published by Sagamore Publishing LLC in 2022.
Recognized with several honors, Ms. Caden was named Best of Alabama for The Yoga Room in 2026. She previously received multiple other awards, dating back to high school when she was named Most Valuable Player of the State during her senior year and with Most Valuable Player of the Game distinctions.
Reflecting on her journey from athlete to entrepreneur to instructor recognized for her work with athletes through yoga practice, Ms. Caden credits life experience as a powerful teacher. Overcoming hardships, such as career-ending injuries, led her to discover new passions at Auburn University, where exposure to kinesiology research inspired further growth. Eager for the future, Ms. Caden hopes to be remembered not only for her athletic and business achievements but also for sharing how yoga transformed her life, aspiring to motivate others by demonstrating its potential to change lives around the world.
