Dr. Cynthia D. Borel, EdD, Owner at Borel Educational Consulting Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic achievement consulting.
With more than 40 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Borel has excelled as the owner of Borel Educational Consulting Services since 2022, a position in which she helps students with identifying and accomplishing their goals by providing them with the necessary resources to thrive. Prior to this role, she contributed to the U.S. Department of Defense as a medical readiness officer between 2016 and 2022. She previously found success on the adjunct faculty for Troy University from 2001 to 2004, Auburn University from 2004 to 2007, and the University of Phoenix from 2006 to 2015. During her time at Troy University, she was appointed the director for eArmyU from 2001 to 2002. Dr. Borel began her career in the U.S. Army, serving to the rank of master sergeant between 1980 and 2001.
To support her professional ambitions, Dr. Borel pursued an education at The University of the State of New York, from which she earned an Associate of Science in liberal arts and a Bachelor of Science in liberal arts in 1997. She continued her academic efforts with a Master of Education in education leadership and a Master of Science in management and health care administration at Troy University in 1999 and 2002, respectively. She concluded her formal studies at Auburn University in 2004, graduating with a Doctor of Education in adult education in 2004. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Borel obtained various certifications from the Department of the Army Management Staff College and Cornell University.
Dr. Borel also worked as a health system specialist with the Martin Army Community Hospital and ASM Research between 2002 and 2022. Outside of her primary endeavors, Dr. Borel is incredibly proud of authoring “Self-Directed Learning: A Creative Experience,” which was published in 2023. Attributing her success to her discipline and her respect for the process, she has received myriad accolades throughout her career, including the 2004 Outstanding Minority Graduate Student Award, Meritorious Service Medals (fourth award), Army Commendation Medals (second award), Army Achievement Medals (second award), an Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medals (sixth award), a National Defense Service Medal, and multiple service ribbons. Looking toward the future, Dr. Borel hopes to continue growing her business, dedicate her spare time to her family and graduate from the Master’s of Science Adult Education with a concentration in Instructional Technology at Troy University.
