Title: Owner
Company: Active Learning Center 6, 7, 8 & 9
Location: Peoria, Arizona, United States
Tracy L Garrett, owner of Active Learning Center 6, 7, 8 & 9, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in preschool programs.
With 29 years of experience to her credit, Mrs. Garrett has excelled as owner of Active Learning Center 6, 7, 8, & 9 since 1996. Although she has reduced her direct involvement, she remains actively engaged in critical business operations such as communication, payroll processing, and billing. She regularly visits all four facilities to provide support and guidance to ensure they have everything they require. She began her career with Wendy’s for 5 years before serving in multiple roles at Childcare Center, formerly the Active Learning Center, from 1994 to 1996. She holds a hotel management certification, a real estate license, and a nail technician license.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Mrs. Garrett has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributes to charitable causes and events hosted by her area’s firefighters and police departments during their annual children’s fundraising drives. She provides parental support in her community as well as consultancy services to other childcare centers where she is acquainted with the owner. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Child Care Association.
Mrs. Garrett attributes her success to her unwavering passion to provide a better life for her family and to change the course of her own upbringing by offering her children opportunities that she did not have. A friend connected her to an employment opportunity at the area childcare center, despite having no prior experience in the field. Over three decades, her daughter and her son both grew up in this industry, with her daughter eventually becoming a lawyer and her son achieving the role of an area supervisor.
In 1995, when her friend opened a second childcare center, Mrs. Garrett managed its operation. In 1996, she became owner of three other locations, however, in 2014, due to a tragic familial incident, their business partnership ended abruptly. Consequently, she acquired the rights to the center’s name and continued to expand its operations with the help of her husband and her son. In the immediate future, she would like to delegate more of her responsibilities so she and her husband can focus on enjoying their retirement.
