Dr. Kavitha N. Krishnan, founder and owner of Healing Synergy LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in healthcare and occupational therapy.

With 30 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Krishnan has excelled as owner, founder, and occupational therapist at Healing Synergy, LLC since 2018. She began her career as a behavioral health occupational therapist at the Institute of Mental Health from 1996 to 1997. She worked as a senior occupational therapist at Alexandra Hospital from 1997 to 1999. As a pediatric occupational therapist, she contributed to the Asian Woman’s Welfare Organization from 1999 to 2000 and the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore from 2000 to 2003, at which time she immigrated to the United States.

Dr. Krishnan continued her career as a project assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2004 to 2008. She served as a specialist occupational therapist in pediatrics at the University of Illinois Medical Center from 2008 to 2015. She garnered a stellar reputation as an occupational therapy supervisor at North Carolina State from 2016 to 2019. She has established herself as an adjunct instructor at Winston-Salem State University since 2017 and as a speaker at Vyne Education and WakeAHEC since 2018.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Krishnan pursued an education at Nanyang Polytechnique Singapore, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy in 1996. She continued her academic efforts at Teesside University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy in 1999. At the University of Pittsburgh, she completed a post-professional master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2004. She concluded her studies at the University of Illinois, obtaining a post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy, specializing in autism spectrum disorder in 2016. She holds certifications in interdisciplinary leadership education in maternal and child health from the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Krishnan has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She volunteered with the Early Intervention Program. Furthermore, she found success with her written work “The SI Solution: The Definitive Family Guide in Thriving During Sensory Integration Dysfunction.”

In light of her impressive undertakings, Dr. Krishnan has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with the Clinical Educator Award from the UIC, the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association Pediatric Award, and received a certificate of association from Winston-Salem State University. In the immediate future, she intends to continue establishing the concierge program, making it operational, and providing therapy and high-quality treatments.
