The concept for his business stems from his time managing missile logistics during the fall of the Berlin Wall, where he worked with trailers resembling those he now uses for his mobile farms, as well as a visit to a hydroponics farm in Houston, Texas, and admiration for ancient Roman aqueducts.
Prior to establishing his business, Dr. Lopez served as a contract manager at the Naval Installation Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico from 1999 to 2004, where he managed a $100-million government maintenance contract. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1999, and during his time in the service, he was honored with the Logistics Management Award by the U.S. Army. Laying a solid foundation for these accomplishments, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the Army Logistics University’s College of Professional and Continuing Education in Virginia in 1998.
Dr. Lopez takes pride in the success of his enterprise despite encountering challenges such as the absence of suitable equipment for tasks like water transfer. He attributes his success to his determination and resilience, as well as navigating obstacles and continually building and refining his business operations.
