He regularly meets with the chief executive officer and holds daily meetings with partners to lead efforts in operating and expanding the company. Additionally, he dedicates his time to organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian organization that provides medical care and support to populations in crisis, including those affected by conflict, disasters, and epidemics, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation, and is a donor to Spread Bees Around the World, an initiative focused on promoting beekeeping and raising awareness about the importance of bees for biodiversity and agriculture, encouraging community involvement and sustainable practices to protect bee populations globally.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Spatola’s father founded Computer Solutions in Princeton in 1977, starting as a typewriter repair company. By age 15, he had already become skilled in typewriter repair, learning from his father and later passing that knowledge to his younger brothers. The company landed a significant contract at Princeton University, allowing him to service typewriters on campus. As technology evolved, he pursued electronics education and transitioned the business to focus on computers, expanding to a small shop in Princeton and eventually establishing their own data center in 1995. In addition to hosting website software, the company offers website development services. He taught himself programming and developed custom applications that are still in use today. He takes pride in keeping up with the ever-changing technology landscape, enabling him to effectively serve his customers as they enhance their own businesses. He believes that staying abreast of technological changes allows them to spread that knowledge across their entire customer base, with every customer that challenges them to learn ultimately benefiting all their clients. Embracing change is key to his success, as he recognizes that most people are averse to it.
Mr. Spatola credits his success to his expertise in tinkering with machines and is genuinely passionate about it, finding fulfillment in assisting people rather than simply profiting from them. He deeply values his customers and strives to build strong, friendly relationships, keeping them informed about his latest projects, concerts, and travels. Currently, he is actively seeking to expand his business rather than retire. While continuing to support existing customers, the company has developed expertise in the software and hardware used by 115 veterinary hospitals, managing all upgrades and providing new computers and equipment. Their current marketing strategy focuses on attracting more veterinary hospitals to ensure growth and success over the next five to 10 years. He takes pride in maintaining a family-oriented business and is committed to ensuring there is enough work to keep his team employed.
