His career also includes serving as president of international business at THB Group from 2011 to 2019, president of TENA from 2009 to 2011, and president of Tianhai Electric North America from 2009 to 2011. He began his career as a principal engineer at Yazaki North America from 2003 to 2009 and earlier served as a process engineer and supervisor at Yazaki North America from 1998 to 2003.
Mr. Lan has also dedicated his time to serving as a board member and owner of six other companies, highlighting his extensive leadership and advisory roles across multiple organizations. He is a member of the CEO Council at MIMA, where he has been active for 16 years, and has been a part of SAE for 25 years. He is also affiliated with the Forsaken Country Club and the Detroit Athletic Club. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has been named Supplier of the Year by General Motors multiple times between 2009 and 2012. Laying a solid educational foundation for his success, he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and polymer science from Peking University in 1991. He later pursued a master’s degree and became a PhD candidate in materials science and engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso in 2001. Furthering his expertise, he obtained a Master of Business Administration in general management and international business from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 2007. Reflecting on his path, his career took off due to his qualifications and swift professional advancement. With a strong background in engineering and his educational backing, he rapidly climbed the corporate ladder, becoming president at a young age.
Mr. Lan takes great pride in his achievement as president of an international business, where he successfully led a publicly traded company for 11 years. During his tenure, the company not only acquired another business but also achieved consistent success through effective turnaround strategies.
