The brand-to-business media agency Haworth utilizes a comprehensive growth sciences framework to identify measurable goals and devise a media mix to help clients achieve them. The company also focuses on data-directed strategy, full-funnel media planning and enhanced media activation. Among the many brands that Haworth has represented and has garnered tremendous results for include White Claw Hard Seltzer, Cayman Jack and TIKI Brand. Others have included Ggee, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Medtronic, Alzheimer’s Association, and Crisp & Green.
Before his distinguished tenure at Haworth Marketing + Media, Mr. Tobey worked for several other organizations, setting the foundation for his future successes. He initially garnered experience in the industry as an assistant agent for a local agency. Mr. Tobey also worked in other sectors, including manufacturing, and was a successful business owner.
Beyond his primary work, Mr. Tobey has served on various boards, including the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix and Orthogen AG in Dusseldorf, Germany. These roles have enabled him to leverage his expertise to provide insight and influence to other companies needing advice. Besides these roles, Mr. Tobey served on boards in a volunteer capacity, supporting various charitable causes, such as Direct Relief as a board member and the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a longtime member of its executive marketing committee and chair of its national fundraising campaign, Thanks and Giving.
Instrumental in helping grow Haworth Marketing + Media from a very small company to a rather large organization, Mr. Tobey is grateful for the individuals he has had the opportunity to work with and the positive work culture the agency has established. During his tenure, he was fortunate to have several great mentors who taught him the complexities of the field. Additionally, throughout his professional career, Mr. Tobey sought out numerous partnerships where he could network and gain insight into their varied perspectives.
Initially deciding to purchase Haworth due to his close relationship with the chief executive officer of Target Corporation, Mr. Tobey reflects on his former success not only with Target Corporation but also with Marshall Fields, Daytons, and Hudson’s, where he fostered many valuable relationships.
In recognition of his many career accomplishments, Mr. Tobey has been recognized with many accolades. Target Corporation named him the Vendor of the Year for 11 consecutive years. He also won a coveted Emmy Award for an advertisement for Tony Bennett’s 80th birthday. These honors are a testament to Mr. Tobey’s hard work, dedication, and extensive industry knowledge.
As he moves forward, Mr. Tobey intends to remain active in the company and dedicate more time to philanthropy. In 2020, Haworth formed Haworth High for students interested in pursuing careers in advertising. Haworth High offers various in-class programs and internships and fosters diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
