As the founder of Company 4 since 2017, he has been instrumental in consolidating his extensive expertise in marketing, partnerships, business development and fundraising. His role involves reaching out to potential new projects, managing a select number of clients to ensure personalized attention, identifying and solving problems, and maintaining cost efficiency. Under Mr. Lyons’s leadership, Company 4 aims to assist startups and established brands in repositioning themselves or launching new products.
Before establishing Company 4, Mr. Lyons served as a managing partner in business development at VCT – Member Experience Advisors from 2017 to 2019, with locations in Boston and Los Angeles. His tenure there was marked by significant contributions to both markets. Before taking on this role, Mr. Lyons was a self-employed business development and marketing strategy consultant in the Greater Los Angeles area between 2016 and 2017. His consultancy work allowed him to hone his skills in crafting effective marketing strategies tailored to diverse client needs.
Between 2015 and 2016, Mr. Lyons held a pivotal position at Samsung Mobile in Mountain View and Los Angeles, where he oversaw marketing initiatives and partnerships across the U.S. This role further solidified his reputation as an expert in marketing and developing lasting partnerships. Mr. Lyons’s earlier career included various consulting projects as a media strategist in Los Angeles from 2014 to 2015 and as co-founder and vice president of 15 Things, a platform that enabled performance-based advertising for social commerce, from 2012 to 2013.
Mr. Lyons’s journey began with foundational roles that shaped his career trajectory. He worked as an independent marketing consultant on various projects in 2012, following his tenure as a senior account executive at Altus Marketing and Management in the Greater Boston Area from 2009 to 2011. Mr. Lyons’s initial foray into the industry included internships at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield in 2007 and as a marketing assistant at Blackstone Medical in Springfield in 2006.
Academically, Mr. Lyons holds a bachelor’s degree in management with a focus on consumer behavior from Worcester Polytechnic Institute since 2009. His education laid the groundwork for his professional achievements, equipping him with critical insights into consumer dynamics that have been integral to his success.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Lyons is deeply committed to civic engagement. He founded the National Hoops Academy, which conducts camps and clinics across the U.S. to help high school students gain recognition for college recruitment or better prep school opportunities. Additionally, he volunteers with Alternative Platforms for Schools’ basketball academy charter school and supports athletics funds at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Mr. Lyons aims to continue growing Company 4 into a household name across the Northeast and throughout California while exploring new avenues for residual income. His vision encompasses solidifying best practices within the industry and developing innovative solutions to address emerging challenges. Mr. Lyons attributes much of his drive and goal-oriented nature to his background as an athlete and the influence of his father, a self-made businessman.
