Having begun her investigative journey in 1995 after graduating from the Nick Harris Detective Academy, Ms. Sears was initially inspired by a judge who encouraged her to pursue this path professionally after a very personal experience had her utilizing her skills to investigate her former husband. Shortly thereafter, she enrolled in the Nick Harris Detective Academy.

Before establishing herself in private investigation, Ms. Sears held various roles contributing to her diverse skill set. She served as a division manager at Management Recruiters and Sales Consultants, followed by positions in corporate communications at Flying Tigers and as a field and office manager at Pacific Ascorp and Pacific Concorp.
