She also manages quotes, contracts and scheduling while maintaining direct involvement on job sites alongside her team. Ms. Graham’s approach is hands-on and comprehensive. There is no part of the operation in which she does not participate.
Since launching her business, Ms. Graham’s son Keith Holznagel has been serving as the human resources and executive officer of operations/chief operating officer. Her grandson, Alex Thidester, is the newest addition to the company. Together, they have grown their family business into a respected name in the industry.
Ms. Graham’s journey into this specialized field began after years spent farming beef cattle and pears at MGMFarms from 2008 to 2019. During this period, she managed all aspects of agricultural production while also hunting as part of her primary responsibilities. The transition from agriculture to range services was prompted by her husband’s global work installing shooting ranges and her own increasing involvement in gun range maintenance. When managing the farm alone became overwhelming due to extensive travel demands and operational challenges, Ms. Graham accepted an offer from Mega Training Systems to oversee their service department. This role included scheduling technicians and setting up service contracts for gun ranges, a pivotal experience that introduced her to the technical and regulatory complexities of the industry.
Ms. Graham’s initial foray into lead abatement was inspired by a retiring specialist from Minnesota. Recognizing an opportunity to serve smaller police departments with essential remediation services, she invested in specialized equipment and quickly built a reputation for thoroughness and reliability. As demand surged nationwide, Ms. Graham’s expanded her team by bringing her son on board as a partner. Today, their company provides remediation, retrofitting and new installations across the U.S., acting as a subcontractor for major manufacturers of live fire shooting range equipment, and has even completed projects abroad, such as a recent assignment on a joint base in South Korea.
Throughout her career, Ms. Graham has learned invaluable lessons about regulatory compliance and safety protocols in hazardous waste management. She has gained deep insights into U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations regarding hazardous materials and has navigated the complexities posed by varying state standards. Government contracting presented additional challenges due to preferred vendor lists and insurance requirements. However, Ms. Graham’s ability to educate clients about Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency standards has helped build trust and understanding among facility managers who often lacked previous training or certification.
Ms. Graham’s educational background included coursework at Anoka Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, which provided foundational knowledge that supports her technical expertise today. Her expertise is further distinguished by her lead certification and advanced training in hazardous materials handling. Achieving such a high level of proficiency in these demanding fields is a testament to her commitment to excellence and continuous professional development.
Beyond her business responsibilities, Ms. Graham maintains active involvement with civic organizations, such as the National Rifle Association. She also supports local shooting sports through donations and sponsorships for Social Security Administration programs and high school teams.
Ms. Graham takes pride in working within a male-dominated field where few women hold similar roles, particularly in Minnesota, and remains committed to demonstrating the value of small woman-owned businesses through quality workmanship. She attributes much of her success to the work ethic instilled during her upbringing on a farm in Albert Lea.
