Cindi D. White, owner at Jazzercise Brunswick Fitness Center, has been recognized by Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements and leadership in the fitness and education industry.
Since 2021, Ms. White found success as the owner and operator of Jazzercise Brunswick Fitness Center, doing business as Jazzercise. In these capacities, she maintains the aforementioned center’s daily operations, oversees marketing efforts, ensures associates adhere to company protocols and standards and engages directly with customers to foster a welcoming environment. Offering 28 classes each week, Jazzercise Brunswick Fitness Center relocated to a new facility in late 2025, a milestone Ms. White described as her most significant achievement. The process involved extensive renovations and overcoming numerous delays in materials and inspections. Ms. White credits her resilience and optimism for guiding her through these challenges, reminding herself that patience would see her through even the most difficult moments.
Ms. White’s journey into fitness entrepreneurship followed a decades-long career in education that began as an elementary school teacher in 1978. Over two decades, she taught every grade from kindergarten through sixth grade, gaining a wealth of experience with students of diverse backgrounds. Transitioning into administration, Ms. White served as an elementary school administrator for ten years following her teaching tenure. During this period, she joined the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators, further cementing her commitment to educational leadership.
Graduating from Baldwin Wallace University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Ms. White further built upon her academic foundation by obtaining her national board certification as a teacher, a distinction she considers among her proudest professional accomplishments. Ms. White continued her formal studies with a master’s degree in elementary math education from The University of Akron in 1988 before earning a master’s degree from Ashland University in 1997.
Ms. White’s fascination with Jazzercise began as a student in 1981. Her passion for movement and community led her to become a class manager prior to advancing to instructor and ultimately owner. She became a certified Jazzercise instructor at age 58, well beyond the typical age range for new instructors, which has given her a unique perspective that resonates with older clients. Many senior participants find inspiration in her example and continue to attend classes regularly.
Ms. White’s expertise in customer service is evident through consistently high conversion rates from promotional campaigns, which are between 65 percent and 80 percent compared to the national average of about 37 percent. She excels at building lasting client connections and converting temporary customers into long-term members. Her ability to foster community in her field is reflected in the supportive atmosphere at Jazzercise Brunswick Fitness Center; members routinely check on one another’s well-being and celebrate shared progress.
Beyond her primary responsibilities at Jazzercise Brunswick Fitness Center, Ms. White is a member of Just a Numb3r Dance Crew, a group of performers aged fifty-five and older dedicated to demonstrating that movement matters at every age. Now in her third season with the group, she dances nearly every day and has performed at venues such as Dollywood. Ms. White is also excited for an upcoming performance aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
Ms. White attributes much of her success to an optimistic outlook that enables her to recover quickly from setbacks and maintain enthusiasm for helping others achieve their goals. She credits influential administrators during her teaching career and experienced Jazzercise instructors for providing mentorship that shaped her approach to leadership. Her professional accomplishments have been highlighted in articles such as “New Brunswick headquarters provides great space for Jazzercise” in 2026 and Sun News in 2026. Ms. White has also received recognition for her volunteerism with a Mayoral Proclamation from the City of Brunswick in 2026.
Ms. White’s civic engagement includes her appointments as president of the Brunswick Education Foundation and president of the alumni association for the Citizens Police Academy of the City of Brunswick. She further volunteers with Project: LEARN, Brunswick Food Pantry and Brunswick City Schools, reflections of her lifelong commitment to community service.
Ms. White’s career reflects unwavering dedication to education, fitness and community engagement—qualities that have defined her legacy as both an educator and entrepreneur. Looking ahead, she plans to expand her business by growing her customer base and acquiring additional franchise locations through ongoing discussions with other franchise owners who may be considering retirement.
