He advanced within the company to the posts of a PAT intern in 2007 and customer compliance assessment intern in 2008. He maintained his involvement at Pioneer Hi-Bred International as a market point intern in 2008 and a field sales trainee from 2009 to 2011. During this time, he worked for USDA-ARS as a biological science aide.
Mr. Peton garnered a stellar reputation in the field of agronomy as an account manager at Pioneer Hi-Bred International from 2011 to 2015. He likewise contributed to Rob See Company as direct sales representative from 2015 to 2017. He held the position of an area sales manager at Corteva Agriscience from 2017 to 2018 before internally transitioning to district sales manager from 2018 to 2019. He continued his career as northeast U.S. and Canada vegetable seeds technical sales representative at Syngenta from 2019 to 2022 before being promoted to a crop protection and AgriEdge specialist from 2022 to 2023.
To support his professional endeavors, Mr. Peton pursued an education at Iowa State University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in agronomy in 2009. Affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise, he notably formed a strategic partnership between Elite Crop Solutions LLC and Channel Seed. Additionally, he collaborated with Pivot Bio, presenting a unique biological opportunity for safer and more sustainable nitrogen farming solutions. Mr. Peton believes that introducing companies like Pivot Bio to the agriculture industry will not only address immediate needs for environmental responsibility but also pave the way for sustainable agriculture over the next 50 years.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Peton has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He considers his most notable achievement to be starting his agricultural efforts on a family row crop farm and earning the trust of key large growers in southern Indiana. In the immediate future, he envisions himself as a dedicated local supporter and sponsor involved with FFA and 4-H clubs in his community.
