The journey to entrepreneurship stemmed from a familial legacy, with Mrs. Smith-Oldridge’s father-in-law opening a butcher shop in 1992. Inspired by this tradition, coupled with a desire for a change of scenery, the couple embarked on a new chapter in Elgin, Oregon. Despite initial setbacks in acquiring the desired USDA facility, their determination led them to the revitalization of Little Billy Bob’s Butcher Shop. Over the years, they expanded the business and ultimately acquired Stafford’s, a USDA facility, in 2021.
In the coming years, Mrs. Smith-Oldridge and her husband aim to fully pay off the USDA plant, marking a significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. Following this achievement, they plan to retire and transition to a smaller-scale operation, managing the shop independently. Their long-term goal includes further development of the USDA plant to facilitate its eventual sale, allowing them to consolidate their financial standing and secure their retirement plans.
Outside of their professional pursuits, Mrs. Smith-Oldridge enjoys various hobbies. She enjoys arts and crafts, quilting, sewing, crocheting, floral arrangements, and painting. Her dedication to both her career and personal interests exemplifies her multifaceted approach to life.
