With nearly four decades of experience, Mr. Behrouzian excels in construction and general contracting. He currently serves as president of the board of directors for the Builders’ Exchange of Santa Clara County since 2023 and has been a member since 2019. He is also the owner and founder of BP-PRK Inc., which specializes in small public works and commercial projects, a role he has held since 2002. In these roles, he hones his expertise in commercial, residential, and public works projects. His tenure has been marked by significant achievements, including the successful completion of projects worth over $1 billion across Southern and Northern California.
At BP-PRK Inc., Mr. Behrouzian manages all projects from the bidding phase to contract closeout, overseeing residential, commercial, and public works sectors. He also supervises all field labor and personnel staff. Notable projects under his leadership include the Cyberlink Offices in San Jose, California, modifications to Fire Station #13 Apparatus Bay, the Whispering Winds Fitness Center, and the office renovation for the Santa Clara Valley Center for the Blind. Additionally, he has managed various projects for multiple school districts, including Alum Rock, Campbell, Fremont, San Jose Unified, and Franklin McKinley, as well as multiple projects for the City of San Jose and the County of Santa Clara.
From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Behrouzian worked as a senior project director with PCM3 Inc. He also served as senior vice president of Northern California at Lan Lab from 1999 to 2000 and as construction manager at Vanir Construction Management Inc. from 1994 to 1999. Additionally, he was a construction manager at Vanir Construction Management Inc. from 1991 to 1994 and a project manager at ACI Architectural Consultants Inc. from 1987 to 1991. He worked as an assistant project manager at Robert E. McKee General Contractors from 1984 to 1987 and as a field engineer at MCL Construction from 1980 to 1984.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Behrouzian pursued an education at the University of London, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management in 1979, followed by a master’s degree in construction management from the same institution in 1980. He is also certified as a B – general building contractor with the Contractors State License Board for the State of California and is a licenced real estate agent.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Behrouzian highlights his tenure with Lan Lab Construction Management, where he was involved with several major projects. He became involved in his profession through his father’s influence as an architect. He finds fulfillment in seeing clients’ responses upon the completion of a project and enjoys transforming concepts into tangible structures, from the beginning sketches to the final product. He attributes his success to a solid educational foundation, being a hard worker, and having bosses who took him under their wing to guide him and teach him about the industry.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Behrouzian is committed to giving back to the community through involvement with civic-minded organizations, such as St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Additionally, he enjoys walking, exercising, and participating in charity and community activities with his wife Parivash, to whom he has been married for over 30 years. His personal aspirations include witnessing significant family milestones such as his daughters’ weddings and cherishing time with future grandchildren.
