Before founding Ludie’s Revival, Ms. Hansen contributed her skills as a speech-language pathologist at United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. Ms. Hansen’s dedication to patient-centered care and her ability to address complex neurological challenges have been hallmarks of her professional journey.
Highly educated, Ms. Hansen earned a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from California State University, Long Beach, followed by a master’s degree in communication disorders, sciences and services from Mankato State University, now Minnesota State University. These credentials have been instrumental in shaping her expertise and enabling her to deliver high-quality care across diverse settings. Additionally, Ms. Hansen holds a clinical competency certificate in speech-language pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, further underscoring her qualifications as a leader in her discipline.
Active in her professional community, Ms. Hansen is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Influential Women. These organizations reflect her ongoing commitment to professional development and to advocating for women in health care. Ms. Hansen’s dedication extends beyond work-related endeavors into civic engagement. She is involved with the Alzheimer’s Association, contributing to efforts to raise awareness and support those affected by dementia-related conditions. She also supports the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals animal shelter, reflecting a broader commitment to community welfare.
Ms. Hansen’s achievements have garnered significant recognition within her profession. Among her most notable accomplishments was being selected from a pool of more than 700 applicants as one of only 10 individuals featured on the cover of DWC Magazine, where her story was published. This distinction highlighted Ms. Hansen’s visibility and influence in the field.
Ms. Hansen’s early career was shaped by mentorship at the Center for Neuro Skills in California, where she benefited from a collaborative team environment that provided a strong foundation for future growth. She also acknowledges the guidance of several other industry professionals through Defining Paths International, as well as that of another individual and various resources from Positive Approach to Care, as pivotal to both her personal and professional development. Furthermore, Ms. Hansen notes that her upbringing in a military family taught her adaptability and an appreciation for change. As the only medically trained member of her family, she notably became the primary caregiver for relatives facing health challenges, an experience that deeply informed her approach to caregiving.
Looking ahead, Ms. Hansen intends to establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing dementia caregiving training and support for underserved families who lack access to these essential services. Through this initiative, she aims to equip caregivers with practical skills while deploying trained professionals to families without existing support systems, continuing her lifelong mission of compassionate service within the community.
