In this capacity, Mr. Adams provides comprehensive portfolio analyses, develops infrastructure, manages financials and profit and loss statements, and ensures the successful implementation of strategic initiatives. As an experienced project management office (PMO) and transformation leader, his hands-on approach and ability to deliver results have positioned BlueShift Associates as a trusted partner in the industry.
Before his role at BlueShift Associates, Mr. Adams spent 2024 to 2026 as a senior information technology (IT) portfolio manager for tax technology at Skechers. There, he directed the global portfolio for retail modernization and compliance across the United States, Latin America, the European Union and Asia-Pacific regions. Mr. Adams became well known for his expertise in building out tax technology project management offices and providing leadership training to portfolio managers, program managers, and project managers across IT and business financial disciplines.
During 2024 and 2025, Mr. Adams contributed his expertise as a senior PMO program manager at Costco Wholesale. Tasked with guiding Costco’s transition to a fully cloud-based organization, he oversaw the migration of IT infrastructure, including server farms and point-of-sale systems, to the cloud. His leadership extended across the entire supply chain, encompassing inventory management, shipping and receiving. Recognizing gaps in existing talent, Mr. Adams recruited new team members and consulting experts to build out Costco’s cloud portfolio, ultimately transforming their project management office into a cloud-based artificial intelligence system.
Simultaneously from 2024 to 2025, Mr. Adams served as a PMO senior program manager at The Walt Disney Studios. He initially worked for The Walt Disney Company as a senior program portfolio manager of IT delivery from 2021 to 2023, where he played a pivotal role in modernizing broadcast engineering infrastructure for ESPN and Disney Radio projects. Mr. Adams’s success led Marvel Studios to seek his expertise for similar initiatives within its division.
In between working for The Walt Disney Company and The Walt Disney Studios, Mr. Adams was a senior PMO portfolio manager at Trader Joe’s between 2023 and 2024. He developed an entire project management office structure to support Trader Joe’s expansion outside the United States. Leveraging his background in psychology, he built relationships between purchasing teams and vendor acquisition departments that previously lacked cohesion. Mr. Adams’s humanitarian approach, grounded in emotional intelligence and data-driven communication, helped unify teams toward common goals.
From 2020 to 2023, Mr. Adams was the global IT PMO director at PolyPeptide Group during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He led efforts to build out PolyPeptide’s global research and development portfolio for manufacturing and distributing COVID-19 vaccines worldwide. This role required extensive international travel to Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Luxembourg to ensure mass spectrometers were functioning optimally for peptide analysis, a critical step in vaccine development.
Before his contributions to the PolyPeptide Group, Mr. Adams served as a program portfolio manager at Gilead Sciences from 2018 to 2020. He contributed to the development of personalized cancer treatments and HIV therapies by collaborating with scientists on manufacturing practices regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Mr. Adams’s work involved direct engagement with government officials regarding testing procedures and treatment administration.
Among his earlier positions, Mr. Adams worked as an assistant PMO director for the city of Burbank. He also held dual roles as a senior program manager and service delivery manager at Hyundai Motor America, following his role as a senior PMO program manager and IT delivery manager at NBCUniversal Inc., overseeing an extensive portfolio that included movies and television programs, such as NBC Nightly News and Access Hollywood.
Mr. Adams’s foundational role as a senior project manager for Los Angeles Harbor College between 2009 and 2012 saw him managing an $800 million program portfolio on campus that focused on modernization through new construction projects and IT infrastructure upgrades. During that time, he successfully delivered seven new buildings under a bond initiative aimed at enhancing educational facilities.
A graduate of California State University in Dominguez Hills, Mr. Adams acquired a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 1994. Additionally, he earned several advanced credentials, becoming a certified AI-empowered SAFe scrum master from SAFe by Scaled Agile Inc. and a certified project management professional from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Mr. Adams also received designations as a Microsoft-certified Azure AI engineer associate and Microsoft-certified Azure solutions architect expert.
Mr. Adams maintains active memberships with several professional organizations, including the PMI, the Agile Scrum Association and the Agile Scrum SAFe Institute, demonstrating his commitment to ongoing professional development. Beyond these affiliations, he is deeply committed to civic engagement as a volunteer with the American Red Cross since 2012. Mr. Adams also dedicates time to supporting children on the autism spectrum by organizing trips for groups aged 5 to 12, including memorable visits to Disneyland designed to create joyful experiences.
Throughout his career journey, Mr. Adams has become renowned for his ability to work with challenging personalities, softening even the most resistant individuals through empathy, clear communication and data-backed strategies. His expertise in directing project management offices, people management and leadership training has become widely recognized within the industry.
Mr. Adams’s contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including Employee of the Month from NBCUniversal in 2014, Most Collaborative Award from the University of Southern California in 2017, and Employee of the Year from PolyPeptide Laboratories in 2021. He attributes much of his success to positive inspiration from those around him, especially his mother, and maintains an optimistic outlook regardless of circumstances.
Looking ahead, Mr. Adams is passionate about changing the world by righting wrongs and building a utopia, even if such ambitions seem unattainable. He is currently working on two books, one that will address mental health toxicity and bullying in corporate America, along with leadership training, and a fictional work featuring superheroes whose mission aligns with his own vision for making a positive impact on society.
