Jamil Hasan, Founder, Author, Interviewer and Podcast Publisher at Crypto Hipster Publications LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements and leadership in Finance, Technology, Publishing and Digital Innovation.

Mr. Hasan’s career reflects a remarkable and diverse journey that began in finance and evolved into the evolving landscape of data infrastructure and digital communication. Since 2022, he has led Crypto Hipster Publications LLC in Darien, Connecticut, an independent media and publishing company focused on those building the digital economy.

As the company’s founder, Mr. Hasan produces three podcast episodes weekly, scaled back from a previous peak of 10 per week to prioritize quality over quantity, and dedicates the remainder of his professional day to writing. Launched in 2021, the “Crypto Hipster” podcast series is a platform that has hosted hundreds of conversations with leading figures across the technology sector. Mr. Hasan’s work focuses on individuals who are actively shaping cryptocurrency technology. Rather than engaging in surface-level speculation, he delves into operational challenges and technical stress points through his work, aiming to extract meaningful insights that inform his extensive literary output.

Mr. Hasan’s commitment to documenting the sector’s evolution has included nearly 600 conversations with global innovators, founders, entrepreneurs, and builders across the digital economy and approximately 800 solo podcast episodes. Further evidence of his work includes an extensive catalog of more than 400 books authored since March 2018.

Before establishing Crypto Hipster Publications LLC, Mr. Hasan served as the president of Minerva Data Advisors, LLC, from 2017 to 2023. He also founded Honorable Battles Company, LLC, between 2017 and 2019. These entrepreneurial ventures followed a distinguished corporate tenure that concluded at American International Group (AIG) Inc., where he held several roles. Hired in 2005 as a senior manager and senior analyst in New York City, he later served as a senior team lead at the AIG Wilton Center before serving as a technology manager until 2017.

Mr. Hasan also worked for PineBridge Investments, a global asset manager, at the company’s headquarters in New York City as a senior data analyst from 2010 to 2011 and was the assistant vice president at AXA XL, a division of AXA, in Stamford, Connecticut, a leading provider of insurance and reinsurance based in the Bahamas, between 2011 and 2012. His initial tenure as an accounting specialist at Prudential Financial, Inc., a publicly traded financial services organization, at its Newark, New Jersey, headquarters, began in 2001.

Playing a crucial role in shaping Mr. Hasan’s career success, his undergraduate studies culminated in a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he pursued a unique three-concentration curriculum spanning business, communications and geology. Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, equipping him with advanced analytical skills essential for navigating complex landscapes.

Mr. Hasan was named a senior executive fellow with The Digital Economist for 2024 to 2025. He maintains an ongoing affiliation with the organization as an alum and has contributed as a speaker at numerous conferences, both online and in person, including roundtable sessions during biannual seminars and workshops for the organization.

Beyond professional pursuits, Mr. Hasan has demonstrated long-standing civic engagement through more than two decades of continuous financial contributions to Children International. While not currently active as a volunteer or member of specific charitable organizations, this philanthropic commitment underscores his dedication to supporting broader community welfare.

As a prolific author, Mr. Hasan is most proud of creating the cryptocurrency industry’s first-ever self-published library by a solo author, a collection now comprising more than 400 original works derived entirely from his podcast research and interviews. His four published titles, with a fifth forthcoming, are distributed through IngramSpark and available across all major e-book retailers, including Amazon. Unlike many content creators who focus on personality-driven narratives or price speculation, Mr. Hasan synthesizes insights from founders and builders into substantive books that document operational realities and technical advancements within the field.

Mr. Hasan’s approach is distinguished by his commitment to exploring the deeper motivations behind technological change rather than focusing solely on current events or superficial narratives. He believes that motivations, such as personal freedom, financial independence and sovereignty, remain constant even as industry dynamics shift rapidly. This perspective informs both his interviews and written works, which aim to capture the real-time evolution of technology while preserving the experiences of those driving innovation for future generations.

Throughout his professional trajectory, Mr. Hasan has demonstrated expertise in building and operating data and technology infrastructures as well as communicating innovative technologies through authorship. His transition into the cryptocurrency sector was catalyzed by necessity after he was laid off during multiple rounds of downsizing at AIG in 2017. Drawing on two decades as a database builder, Mr. Hasan recognized Bitcoin’s potential as a public database. This realization spurred his fascination with decentralized technology long before it became widely discussed or adopted.

Mr. Hasan attributes much of his success to personal evolution and resilience, as well as learning to build meaningful relationships after initially being known for bluntness early in his corporate career. He credits emotional empathy and interpersonal skills for transforming him into someone colleagues seek out for collaboration.

Looking ahead, Mr. Hasan is focused on establishing sustainable revenue models for both his podcast and literary catalog while expanding readership through speaking engagements and teaching college-level courses. His broader objective is to construct scalable educational frameworks that translate expertise into structured learning opportunities for others, a testament to his enduring commitment to knowledge sharing within an ever-evolving technological landscape.
