Kaitlyn Ridel, founder, content strategist and consultant at Kaitlyn Ridel Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing.

Ms. Ridel’s career spans nearly 15 years, beginning with building off her passion for storytelling as a journalist. She worked as reporting intern for the Hispanic Link News Service in 2012 and as an investigative intern for USA Today in 2012. Shifting her focus to policy reporting, Ms. Ridel became a multimedia reporter for Northeast Ohio Media Group and a legislative information intern, staff writer and researcher for Congressional Quarterly (CQ) Roll Call. Though she enjoyed her early years in journalism, she started feeling like it wasn’t a good long-term fit and transitioned to content marketing in 2015.

Joining FiscalNote, a technology startup, as a content specialist, Ms. Ridel found herself immediately drawn to her ability to track return on investment in marketing endeavors. Promoted to content marketing manager after just a year with the organization, she managed multiple major projects from start to finish, including ideation, writing, designing and final content delivery. In 2017, Ms. Ridel took on the position of content marketing editor at Studio 2G, part of the Atlantic Monthly Group LLC. Recognized for her expertise, she went on to become director of strategic marketing and then senior director of content for the company, spearheading marketing campaigns for multiple Fortune 500 companies.

Blending her marketing and journalism expertise with her early experiences in policy, Ms. Ridel also contributed as a director, managing editor and senior director of digital content for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In this role, she oversaw the “Common Grounds” series, which brought together politicians from both sides to discuss issues and find consensus over a cup of coffee. Ms. Ridel considers this program one of the highlights of her career.

In 2025, Ms. Ridel founded her own business, Kaitlyn Ridel Consulting, where she serves as a content strategist and consultant. Through this venture, she helps educate audiences on important policy initiatives, breaking down complex issues so that anyone can understand them. Additionally, Ms. Ridel collaborates with businesses and nonprofits in engaging in advocacy for policies that will affect them. Since 2024, she has also provided insight as the director of communications and marketing for Free the Facts, a nonprofit organization with the mission of empowering young people to become future leaders.

Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Ridel completed coursework in print journalism at Boston University, in political journalism at Georgetown University, and in media, communications and political journalism at The Washington Center. Subsequently, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Dayton in 2013. Ms. Ridel gained her earliest experiences as a published writer during her academic years, writing articles such as “Campus Pays Final Respects to Fallen Flyers” for Flyer News, the University of Dayton’s independent student paper. This set the foundation for her future successes, both in journalism and in communications.

Noted for her achievements in the field, Ms. Ridel has been celebrated with a number of accolades. She received the Ritter Collett Award of Excellence to the Outstanding Senior in Journalism from the University of Dayton’s department of communication in 2013. Ms. Ridel was presented with a Platinum Marcom Award from the Government Media Executive Group LLC in 2019 and a Platinum AVA Digital Award for her work with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2020. She was named a Gold Winner in the Strategic Communications Series from Atlantic Media that same year.

When she’s not working, Ms. Ridel enjoys reading, gardening, spending time in the park and taking care of her two dogs, Tyson and Aspen. She looks forward to continuing to establish Kaitlyn Ridel Consulting over the years ahead, with the goal of expanding her client base. In addition to this organization, Ms. Ridel also has ambitions to launch her own content studio. She aims to make her first hires for that venture in 2026.
