Title: Owner
Company: Benevolent Hands
Location: Columbus, Georgia, United States
Terry Wayne Bush, owner of Benevolent Hands, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements and leadership in heating and air conditioning and major appliance repair.
Mr. Bush has established a distinguished career marked by service, technical expertise and entrepreneurial achievement. As the owner of Benevolent Hands since 2017, he has dedicated over five years to providing heating, air conditioning and major appliance repair services in the Columbus, Georgia, area. In this capacity, Mr. Bush manages all aspects of the business, including taking phone calls, scheduling appointments with customers, maintaining inventory across multiple vehicles, and most importantly, conducting installation and maintenance of all major appliances and heating and air-conditioning systems, both gas and electric, in residential settings for his clients. His commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction has enabled him to build a loyal client base of approximately 2,000 customers.
Before founding Benevolent Hands, Mr. Bush completed a distinguished career in the U.S. Army that spanned over two decades. Serving on active duty from 1992 to 2014, he achieved the rank of sergeant first class (E-7) before retiring. Mr. Bush’s military tenure stands as his most notable professional accomplishment, reflecting his dedication, leadership and resilience.
Following his retirement from the military, Mr. Bush sought a new direction that would allow him to leverage his skills and experience outside the traditional corporate environment. He pursued further education in technical trades, earning certifications in heating and air conditioning as well as major appliance repair from Columbus Technical College in 2016.
Mr. Bush’s expertise in heating and air conditioning, as well as major appliance repair, is underscored by his success in competitive technical programs during his time at Columbus Technical College. He participated in state-level competitions for two consecutive years as part of the college’s heating, air conditioning and appliance programs. Mr. Bush’s team earned a Gold Medal at the state level, advancing to nationals where they secured a Silver Medal in their first year and a Bronze Medal in their second year, demonstrating both skill and commitment to excellence.
Academically, Mr. Bush holds an Associate of Arts in general studies from Central Texas College, completed in 2004, followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration from American Military University in 2010 and a Master of Science in human resource management from Trident University International, conferred in 2013. His education has been instrumental in his career success, particularly as an entrepreneur.
Mr. Bush’s professional affiliations reflect an ongoing commitment to industry engagement and community involvement. He is a member of Business Networking International, his local chamber of commerce and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Mr. Bush also actively gives his time to worthy causes, such as Safe House Ministries. Through House of Heroes, he was recognized with a Notable Mention Award for his contributions. Moreover, recognizing the increasing cost-prohibitive nature of appliance repairs versus replacement, Mr. Bush began collecting and repairing old and broken appliances for donation to individuals in need.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bush’s approach to business has been shaped by his belief in resilience, self-discipline and self-trust. This philosophy has guided him through significant career transitions and entrepreneurial challenges. After retiring from military service and declining a government civilian position, Mr. Bush chose to establish Benevolent Hands rather than start anew in the corporate sector for less than he felt he was worth.
Today, Mr. Bush remains dedicated to growing his business through word-of-mouth referrals rather than active promotion, aspiring to expand operations by adding additional vehicles and hiring employees who share his vision for service excellence. His legacy is defined by service to country through military duty, to community through charitable work, and to customers through skilled craftsmanship and integrity in business operations.
